My Best Friend’s Exorcism – Set in the 80’s with a ton of 80’s references that I know for a fact the young cast had no idea what they were saying to one another. However, I did enjoy it, tossing in a bit of Jennifer’s Body with The Craft. I’d give this one a RENT.

Sissy– A lesbian horror film where characters at a single location start to get picked off one by one. So basically, it’s Bodies Bodies Bodies but actually good. They already had me at Aussie horror, them actually delivering on the gore was a nice topper. They do mix in a bunch of CGI blood effects that stands out and doesn’t look very good, but the kills are nasty enough that you can ignore it. I give this one a strong RENT.

Raven’s Hollow – It had a strong concept; however, the film lacks any kind of scares or spooky atmosphere. The CGI is terrible by the way, and so is the acting from our lead actor. He delivers his lines so lifeless. SKIP!

Hocus Pocus 2 – I wasn’t hating it at first, but after spending more than 10 minutes with our witches, they start to get a bit draining. The kids in this one are also bland and forgettable. Tony Hal as the mayor however was great. The poor man just wanted a candy apple! Also, way too many musical numbers. It’s been years since I’ve watched the original, but I don’t remember this much singing and dancing. I gave this possibly a RENT. It mostly depends on how nostalgic you are with the first film.

Jeepers Creepers: Reborn – Where to even begin. The greenscreen backgrounds is a good start. Almost every night scene is just green screened in. It looks absolutely terrible. But then you mix it with the pretty damn good practical effect makeup of the Creeper and everything clashes. The acting is terrible, but that’s to be expected but so is the plot, pulling a Halloween and tossing a cult into the mix. That too is also laughable with their dumb robes. They also don’t seem to be able to play the Jeepers Creepers song, so they got some generic version that really sucks. This is a SKIP!

Deadstream – This is a must see. If you’re looking for something to watch this Halloween, Shudder has you covered as this movie is fantastic. It is equal parts funny as it is scary. It’s gory, gross and cleverly filmed. The whole thing reminded me of Evil Dead, with the creative and gross creatures, to the sickout gore moments. It’s a real gem that I hope you get around to seeing. SEE IT!
