Script Links 7-9-12

-

Hi all.

Two quick bits of housekeeping before we get to the links for this week.

First, starting Monday July 23 Roy and I have decided to switch to a Monday through Friday script review schedule. We’ll still do three to four reviews per week (depending on the Sunday Spotlight which will now just be called the Script Spotlight), with an article in the middle. We want to go this direction since numbers on Saturday and Sunday really drop off. Most likely because you all aren’t at work, so you have cooler things to do than sneak on the internet and read about screenwriting.

In preparation for this, next week will be a light week with Roy and I just posting articles. We realized trying to do a regular week and then switching to the new schedule would be too overwhelming.

Secondly, Roy and I discussed it before, but we’ve either become too lazy or too busy (depending on your point of view), and we’re going to start including the title, logline, and synopsis in each review we do. This should help those of you who haven’t read the script. We’re requiring the AUTHORS to include the synopsis when they upload their script in order to get a review from us. For those of you who have been welcoming new members, thank you, but if newer uploads don’t include a synopsis, please feel free to mention IN A NICE WAY that they should include one. If need be, blame it on me that I’m a hardass or something so you look like the good guy. (Y’know, similar to how Roy always sells me down the river…)

Thank you for your patience and continued reading. Feel free to ask us any questions here or on the forums.

Now, unto the schedule:

  1. yes! Inglourious Basterds!

when the script got leaked i held off for like 2 days before breaking down and reading it. only lasted an hour when Django Unchained got leaked. it spoils seeing the movie a little once you’ve already read the script. least it does for me.

  2. although i’ve read several of your reviews the point/scoring system is still confusing. is there somewhere on this site that lists each question and it’s value? i think you have it, b/c i almost remember reading it, but i have no idea where to find it now… if it does exist.
